I cut strips of sterling silver sheet metal and formed these earrings on a stake until they had the perfect shape I was looking for and then attached a length of sterling wire to the back creating a sort of hoop earring. They spin on the silver ear wire so that is has movement.
The earrings are interesting and catch the light nicely and I love the way each strike of the hammer is visible showing the work in forming the curves. They are lightweight and modern.
Total length is just under 2 inches. The ring is approximately 7/8 inch diameter and the widest part of the formed element is 3/8 inch wide.
Photos have been taken using a macro lens... if you would like a perspective photo let me know and I will shoot one for you.
Thank you for looking,
~ Michelle
